General Scholarships

The list below represents a sampling of scholarships for which seminary students may by eligible. We also encourage students to search the web, where additional sources of aid may be found. 

An (*) by scholarship name denotes scholarships for which Westminster students have successfully applied.

Acton Institute Calihan Fellowship
Deadlines: July 15 (Fall semester) and October 15 (Spring semester)
: Fellowships and research grants up to $3,000, typically range from $500-$1,000
Eligibility Criteria: For advanced graduate students and seminarians with strong academic performance and an interest in pursuing the themes of the Acton Institute.

Champions for Christ
Deadlines: April 1 (Summer term), July 1 (Fall semester), November 1 (Winter/Spring Semester)
Eligibility Criteria: The purpose of the foundation is to provide scholarships to students who endeavor to enter full time Christian service.

*Harvesters Scholarship
Deadline: May 31
Eligibility Criteria: For students responding to the calling of becoming a missionary upon graduation, must confirm superior academic achievement (3.0 GPA or better) and financial need.

*International Order of the King's Daughters and Sons
Deadline: March 1
Award: $1,000
Applications Availability: Requests for applications accepted December 1 - March 1
Eligibility Criteria: Scholarships are awarded to U.S. or Canadian students in financial need who have answered God's call on their lives and are enrolled full-time in a Master of Divinity program. A 3.0 GPA or above must be maintained.

*Kerusso Scholarship 2016
April 8, 2016
Eligibility: Seminary student pursuing Master's of Divinity or a Master's of Theology degree leading to a full time Christian ministry vocation. A focus in preaching must be a priority. Applicant must be enrolled or planning to take a minimum of 9 credits and have completed a minimum of 18 credits with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25.

Marguerite Young Endowment Fund
Deadline: March 31
: Created for students enrolled in a protestant seminary as a Master of Divinity candidate preparing for full-time ministry.  Candidate must have completed the credit equivalent of at least one full year of enrollment in the degree program.

*Opal Dancey Foundation Grants
: April 15
Applications Available: January 15
Eligibility: Candidate must be a full time student seeking a Master of Divinity degree and who will be serving in pulpit ministry.  No grants will be awarded for any other course of study.  The grant application must be completed online.

*Shepherds for the Savior Ministry Education Grant Program
April 1 and November 1
Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must be preparing for a ministry career.
