More RUF Scholarships!

April 19, 2011

Westminster is now offering 15 scholarships for Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) interns!

Westminster has increased its RUF intern scholarship, which provides 100% tuition for the duration of one's time at seminary from the award year forward.  This scholarship is awarded on a first-come first-served basis to qualified applicants. Students are encouraged to apply by April 15th (Fall admission) and September 30th (Spring admission).

Contact the Admissions Office for more details and to apply

Because so much of campus ministry has a specific apologetic dimension to it, Westminster is uniquely positioned to train RUF ministers to deal with such questions, issues and problems with a robustly biblical apologetic and pastoral approach. A campus minister has unique challenges both in the subjects and majors he has to deal with on campus as well as the apologetic and personal counseling matters he faces.

RUF interns have to raise their own support, making it a financial sacrifice to serve in that way. As RUF interns become prospective students and consider a call to ministry, Westminster strives to assist specifically this call through the RUF Scholarship by relieving some of that additional financial burden they would face while in seminary.

Interested students can visit the scholarships page to start applying for this and other scholarships. There are opportunities for international students, for students with science backgrounds, for urban leaders, etc. We look forward to meeting you!

From the RUF website:

As a ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America, RUF holds to the core beliefs of historic Christianity which motivate our heart for God and love for the university. Some of these beliefs include the need for new life in Christ, the authority of the Scriptures, and the mission of the Church to reach and equip all people with the message of the gospel. Check out the Who We Are page for more information.

Westminster alumni Rob Edwards writes for RUF on sanctification here, and Alex Watlington, Penn State RUF campus minister, has an article here.
