Protestant Reformation and John Calvin

May 30, 2013

2013 B. B. Warfield Lecture Series

Rev. Dr. Carl Trueman, Paul Woolley Chair of Church History, will be speaking at the 2013 B. B. Warfield Lecture Series in Oklahoma City, OK on May 31 and June 1. Dr. Trueman will be speaking on the Protestant Reformation with a focus on the reformer John Calvin.

John Calvin is inextricably linked to the Protestant Reformation. He had an abiding influence on the Church of his day, and his influence in our day is remarkable. It goes without saying that his name still sparks controversy on one hand and admiration on the other. His passion was the glory of God and for this he is exemplary. With Dr. Carl R. Trueman, we will look at Calvin’s life, his theology of the Church, and examine one of the greatest theologies in the history of the Church, The Institutes of the Christian Religion.
