Alumnus Dr. Stingley with the Lord

After a long bout with lung cancer, OPC Pastor and Counsellor Rev. Dr. Michael Stingley (M.Div. '62) went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday night, April 2, 2013 with family at his side. Dr. Stingley, a longtime member of the Presbytery of Southern California of the OPC, served as a military Chaplain and pastored Orthodox Presbyterian Churches in Eagle Rock, and Manhattan Beach, California. In the late 1970's he returned to school and earned a PhD in Psychology and became a Registered Marriage and Family Counsellor.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2011 at Branch of Hope OPC. 2370 W. Carson St., Suite 100, Torrance, CA 90501. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Westminster Theological Seminary, P.O. Box 27009, Philadelphia, PA 19118. For more information, visit his obituary here.

He is survived by his wife Nel (Nelvia), and son Ross Stingley and his wife Jill, along with a grandson Bradley McLean. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sue (nee Stingley) McLean.
