Writing and Ministry

March 18, 2013

Reaching the Next Generation

The Center for Theological Writing will host a panel discussion on “Writing and Ministry: Reaching the Next Generation,” with Carl Trueman, Tim Witmer, and Deryck Barson on March 19 from 1-2pm in Van Til Hall Room 5.

Picking up on a theme introduced in David Wells' recent lecture—that pastors should guard against the distortion that modern methods of communication and psychology introduce—the panelists will discuss how we can faithfully proclaim the gospel of Christ through book publications, articles, blogs, news letters, presbytery reports and other forms of written communication. Join these experienced pastors and writers to discuss issues of the church and written communication.

  • Carl Trueman, Paul Wolley Professor of Church History and Pastor of Cornerstone OPC.
  • Tim Witmer, Professor of Practical Theology and founder and director of The Shepherd’s Institute
  • Deryck Barson, church planter/pastor of All Souls Church, New York
