Noah Huss (M.Div. '09) went home to the Lord on Tuesday, March 6th. He was 34. Please join us in lifting up in prayer the Huss family, World Team and the Westminster community as we mourn the loss of our brother in Christ. Noah is survived by his wife, Rachel, and their three sons. During his time at Westminster, Noah was well known for his ministry to other students. He was the very first student to work in the Seminary’s Center for Theological Writing. After graduation Noah worked for World Team for the past 3 and a half years as a mobilizer. The viewing and funeral service for Noah Huss will be held at Evans Funeral Chapel in Maryland (3 Newport Drive, Forest Hill, MD 21050). The viewing will take place on Sunday, March 11 from 3-5 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be Monday, March 12 at 11 a.m.. Rev. Dr. John Leonard will officiate at the funeral service.
From the World Team website:On Tuesday, March 6, 2012 Noah Huss left this world bound for heaven. He was called home to glory by an untimely automobile accident while driving through South Carolina to attend a mission conference as a representative of World Team. The impact of this sudden loss is felt most deeply by his wife Rachel and their three sons, Nathan, Levi and baby Simon. They were the love of his life. His mother, father, sister Sarah and brother Jake are suffering the loss of beloved son and brother. Our prayers for their comfort are ongoing. A quick look on his Facebook wall reveals what a special creation of God we had in Noah Huss. From childhood friends to missionaries he discipled into cross-cultural service, he was known for being a man of faith, passion, creativity, wit and love. He approached everything in life whole-heartedly and honestly. He sought to know people more than to be known by them. He left us changed by his wonderful illustrations and stories that brought God’s Word to life in new and meaningful ways. As one colleague put it: Noah was one of the rare souls who truly cared… Some of us plod; you, Noah seemed to dance. He was a student of people and life. His degrees from Grove City College and Westminster Theological Seminary equipped him for his most recent work as a Mobilizer with World Team. The fruit of his ministry is evidenced by the dozens of people he mobilized to cross-cultural ministry, the hundreds of contacts he tracked with personally, and the thousands of people encouraged through his writing and speaking about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and its power to redeem a broken world. He was an encourager, counselor and friend to each one. Noah’s creative talents and depth of character have been used of God for immeasurable good in the Kingdom. Even now he is touching our lives as we celebrate and remember him. Being the very nature of a servant, Noah would be humbled by all this attention and surely point our focus away from himself and to His Master.
