Dr. G.K. Beale, Visiting Professor of NT

Westminster is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Gregory K. Beale as visiting professor of New Testament from 2009-2012.
Professor Beale, a graduate of Southern Methodist University (B.A. and M.A.), Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M.), and the University of Cambridge (Ph.D.), is currently Kenneth T. Wessner Chair of Biblical Studies and Professor of New Testament at the Wheaton Graduate School of Theology .
Former president of the Evangelical Theological Society , Professor Beale is a respected evangelical leader and renowned scholar. He has published both for the evangelical constituency, with monographs for Baker, Crossway, InterVarsity Press, and Eerdmans, and for the mainstream academy, with a monograph for Sheffield Academic Press. His commentary on Revelation (Eerdmans) sets the standard for the field.
Indeed, Dr. Beale is a scholar with a heart for the church and the desire and the ability to interact outside of the normal boundaries of broad evangelical discourse and publishing. His resume of publications includes numerous articles for refereed scholarly journals such as Biblica , Novum Testamentum , and New Testament Studies.
Professor Beale's first course for Westminster will be "The New Testament Use of the Old," scheduled for academic year 2009/2010.
His recent co-edited book, A Commentary on the New Testament Use of the Old Testament (Baker, 2007), was finalist in the 2008 Christian Book Award in the Bible and Reference Category , winner of the 2008 Christianity Today Award of Merit in Biblical Studies , and named Academic Book of the Year (2008) by the Association of Theological Booksellers.
