M.Div. pastoral, Philadelphia campus

Denomination: Presbyterian Church in America
Favorite Authors: A.W. Tozer and Jerry Bridges
Career Goal: pastoral ministry

Robin Lee bemoans the fact that at Westminster’s Philadelphia campus, he won’t be catching too many waves at the beach! The Southern California native left the land of sun and surf to pursue a calling even more irresistible than surfing: preparing for a lifetime of pastoral ministry.

A first-year student in the M.Div. program, Robin traces his conversion back to his mother’s witness and a winter retreat during his freshman year of high school. After high school, he earned a degree in the political economy of industrial societies at the University of California at Berkeley. Before his decision to pursue seminary, he worked in finance and sales for the candy company M&M/Mars, Inc. He is currently the assistant English ministry pastor at Yuong Sang Church/Eternal Life Ministries.

He says he chose Westminster because it is “the best place to receive sound reformed theological training while cultivating a pastoral heart.” So far, he has most enjoyed Professor Oliphint’s course on Van Tilian apologetics. He plans to graduate in 2008.

Robin and his wife Irene have a three-year-old daughter, Karis, and an 18-month-old son named Elijah.
