William Burns

M.Div., Texas Campus

Hometown: Dallas, TX
Denomination: PCA
Career Goal: pastoral ministry

William Burns came to faith in high school through the testimony of his brother. As a student at Rice University, he got involved in Campus Crusade for Christ, eventually joining the staff of that organization after graduation. Bill served with Campus Crusade for over seven years, including five years at the headquarters in Orlando, Florida; one year in Kyrgyzstan; and one and a half years in Austin, Texas.

After earning an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2001, Bill moved to Dallas. He joined the PCA denomination the following spring, and in February 2004 became director of worship and ministry development at Town North Presbyterian Church in Richardson, Texas.

Bill enrolled in the M.Div. program at Westminster’s Texas campus in January 2004. Among the benefits of his Westminster education so far, he says, “I have definitely been energized in my view of worship!”

After he completes his M.Div., Bill plans to seek ordination as a teaching elder in the PCA. His goal is to serve as an associate pastor with an emphasis on ministry leadership and the development of church leaders.
